An apparatus for the recuperative preheating of cold air, more particularly fresh air, fed to a lime shaft kiln or the like, such as an annular or double inclined kiln, by transferring heat from the air, more particularly the waste gas, heated in the lime shaft kiln, with a recuperator comprising a chamber, or the like, traversed by a plurality of heat exchange tubes, in which the hotter waste gas flows through the heat exchange tubes, while the cooler fresh air flows through the chamber surrounding them, in which a preliminary recuperator, having a chamber traversed by heat exchange tubes or the like, precedes a main recuperator comprising the heat exchange tubes traversed by the waste gas, the waste gas flowing through the chamber and the cold air flowing through the heat exchange tubes. |
