PURPOSE:To perform a focused shot at any time in tracking a subject in an accurate manner by switching it to a second focusing mode tracking the subject after judging that the subject is moving, and keeping the mode held intact even if the moving of the subject is no longer detected. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with a selector means 102 which selects a first focusing mode, prohibiting the drive of a camera lens afterward when it is once focused, and a second focusing mode, tracking a subject in driving the camera lens on the basis of focusing information being detected by a focusing detection means 100 irrespective of whether being focused or not, to each other. After it is so judged that the subject is moving by a judging means 101, it is selected to a second focusing mode by the selector means 102, and even if the moving of the subject has become undetected, the second focusing mode is made so as to keep held intact. With this constitution, the moving subject is accurately tracked so that a focused shot can be taken at any time. |
