This apparatus in a building ventilation system is intended to prevent the spread of fumes resulting from a fire between the building's (1) fire separation zones (3, 4). The ventilation system consists of collection ducts (9, 10) connected to and from air ducts (5, 6 and 7, 8) to the fire separation zones; these ducts connect the fire zones to the open air via fans (11, 12). The apparatus consists of fitting automatic reversing shutters (13) in the input and output air ducts (5, 6 and 7, 8) of the fire separation zones (3, 4), which are designed to be activated by a drop in pressure in the direction of the airflow induced by the fans (11, 12). This reduction in pressure holds the reverse shutters (13) open, but they are designed so that they automatically shut when the pressure reduction across them ceases.<IMAGE> |
