PURPOSE:To facilitate maintenance, keep high reliability, and reduce a running cost by a method wherein an image toner formed on a recording member in a cassette is directly transferred and fixed to a sheet material disposed outside the cassette by a heater provided inside the cassette. CONSTITUTION:When a recording member 1 is fed in a direction A, a toner 3 in a hopper 8 is supplied to a gap formed between an electrode 2 and an insulating layer 1b of the recording member 1. On the other hand, a low recording voltage in the order of +V in accordance with an image signal is applied to a plurality of electrode needles 2a inside a cassette 11. The electrically charged toner group securely adheres on the surface of the recording member 1 by an electric force to form a toner image 3a thereon. With the travel of the recording member 1, the toner is carried in the travel direction thereof. When being carried to a contact part of the recording member 1 with a heater 4, the toner 3a on the recording member 1 melts to be a toner 3b. When the heater 4 rotates and presses the recording member 1 against a sheet material 7 at one end thereof, the toner 3b on the recording member 1 is successively transferred onto the sheet material 7 and fixed thereto. |
