PURPOSE:To eliminate the time required for making clamping faces parallel and for adjusting them, to eliminate a mistake by an individual difference when they are adjusted and made parallel and to realize a bonding operation which is stable for a long time by a method wherein at least one side of the clamping faces is formed as a cylindrical face. CONSTITUTION:At a wire-clamping mechanism used for a wire bonding apparatus, at least one side is formed as a cylindrical face. Alternatively, a spring 4 or the like is used at least for one side. For example, a wire 3 is clamped by using a flat board 2 and a clamping block 1 having a cylindrical face. In this case, both the clamping block 1 and the flat board 2 may be driven or only one of them may be driven. When only one of them is driven, the fixed side can be caught by using the spring 4. Alternatively, clamping blocks having the cylindrical surface may be used on both sides. |
