PURPOSE:To provide a recording material enabling information to be easily written and read, having excellent long-time stability and suitable for optical recording, comprising two or more polymers having a characteristic feature of a homogeneous-heterogeneous phase transition with temperature or the like or a copolymer comprising different such polymeric components. CONSTITUTION:The recording material comprises a mixture of two or more polymers or a copolymer comprising different polymeric components, e.g., a polyester and a polyvinyl methyl ether, shows a compatible homogeneous phase and a phase-separated heterogeneous phase in accordance with temperature, and is characterized in that the glass transition temperature of the compatible polymer or the continous-phase polymer at the time of phase separation is not lower than 50 deg.C, preferably, not lower than 60 deg.C, and the cloud point is higher than the glass transition temperature of the compatible polymer by not less than 10 deg.C, preferably, not less than 30 deg.C. |
