PURPOSE:To improve the recording, reproducing and erasing characteristics of information by forming a guide groove for tracking in an optical disk substrate through dry etching. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 1, to which a mask having a specified pattern is formed, is dry etched, thus forming a guide groove 2 for tracking. The guide groove 2 of a desired depth can be obtained by controlling the depth of the guide groove 2, and the guide groove 2 having an correct form can be surely formed as there is no transfer process. Accordingly, recording, reproducing and erasing characteristics can be improved. |
