The floor 1, Fig. 2, of a car-carrying railway vehicle is formed at each longitudinal side, respectively, with corrugations 2, 2a, the crest portions of which extend transversely of the length of the railway vehicle, a sheet-metal piece 3 formed with matching corrugations, being slidably mounted on each of the sets of corrugations 2, 2a, the piece 3 having thereon a guide 5 to engage wheels of the cars, which guide extends longitudinally of the vehicle, the piece 3 and its guide 5 being adjustably secured to the floor corrugations 2 or 2a to suit cars of different wheel tracks. As shown, each piece 3 has secured thereto a number of feet 6, each having a slot 9 engageable by a screw-fastener 8 which screws into an associated block 7 welded between successive crests of the corrugations. The outer edge of the piece 3 also carries a guide (4) as described with reference to Figs. 5 to 7 (not shown). |
