PURPOSE:To obtain a low-viscosity asphalt modifier, composed of an aqueous emulsified dispersion of a thermoplastic elastomer and an aqueous emulsified dispersion of a rubber-like polymer, having great gripping power and tackiness to aggregates and highly balanced between toughness and elongation. CONSTITUTION:(A) An asphalt modifier is composed of (A1) an aqueous emulsified dispersion of a thermoplastic elastomer, preferably a dispersion prepared by emulsifying and dispersing an aromatic vinyl compound-conjugated diene block copolymer using an anionic surfactant, further, as necessary, a nonionic surfactant, etc., and (A2) an emulsified dispersion of a rubber-like polymer, preferably a styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber latex, etc., at (10-90)/(90-10) solid content weight ratio of the components (A1)/(A2). The average particle diameter of the dispersion is <=10mum. (B) A composition is obtained by blending asphalt with 1-15wt.% (solid content) component (A). (C) A composition is obtained by blending an aggregate with 1-10wt.% component (B). |
