The domestic dishwasher has a washer tank, an ion exchanger (2) and safety level sensor (3) within a water inlet tank (1). The ion exchanger is connected via a connecting channel (10) in the inlet tank with the outlet pipe (6) of the inlet tank. The outlet is in liq.-conducting connection with the level sensor and the washer tank and the sensor is equipped with an air lock chamber (4) which is connected (5) to a pneumatically controlled safety and inlet valve. In the connecting channel (10), a wall for deflecting flow separates a venting channel (17) from the connecting channel. (Dwg.2/2)
