The air-cooled rotary exhauster or compressor has a fan rotor, pressure and suction unions, and enclosing sound-dampening casing, an air inlet port, and an opening for the pressure union. The casing consists of a two-part cowl (2,3), whose internal contour matches the external one of the machine, while leaving an intervening space. It has four openings (15, 16) at 90 deg. intervals in the peripheral direction, two opposite ones having seals through which the suction and pressure unions pass, while the cooling air is discharged through the other two (15,1 6). One or more fan rotors (14) are mounted on the machine, the cooling air end inlet port (7) being coaxial with the latter. USE/ADVANTAGE - Air-cooled rotary exhauster or compressor is compact, low noise level, good cooling, and drivable by an electric motor or an IC engine.
