A buried mine has a container (10) enclosing a lift device (15) which can emerge from the container (10) together with the mine case (23) and which has a swivel mechanism for swivelling the mine case (23) about a horizontal axis. Pref. the lift device (15) can be rotated about a vertical axis by a drive controlled by a seeker (27), emergence of the lift device being initiated by an activating sensor (38) when the target distance starts to increase after reaching a minimum value. ADVANTAGE - The mine is effective against targets (e.g. tank) even at long range (up to 200m).
