Shaft pins (12-15) for the platen and rubber sheet cylinders (4-7) are located in a side wall (11), and are driven by drive gearwheels (18-23). All gearwheels involved have inclined toothing, whereby the teeth of wheels interengaging have a counterposed angle of inclination. On the shaft pin (13) of the one rubber sheet cylinder (4), and on that (14) of the other such cylinder (6) are located two drive gearwheels (19, 20; 21, 22) acting as double gearwheels. With the drive gearwheel (20) of the one rubber sheet cylinder (4) engages the main drive gearwheel (10) which is connected via a shaft (36) with the main drive of the machine. The other drive gearwheel (19) on the shaft pin (4) of the rubber sheet cylinder (4) meshes with the drive gearwheel (18) on the shaft pin (12) of the platen cylinder (5).
