The invention concerns computerized numerically controlled lathes in which a rotating workpiece can be machined with different tools each of which is fitted in a tool holder on a support which can be displaced by means of a cross-fitting. Each tool holder consists of a main holder mounted on the support and a removable holder, carrying the appropriate tool, mounted in the main holder. The main holder (17) is mounted on the support (11) by means of a fixation spindle (19) and is designed as a flange-shaped body (23) with a radial throughbore (24) whose longitudinal axis (26) cuts the longitudinal axis of the main holder (17) at right angles at the centre. The main holder (17) has a slot (29) open at the side nearest the removable holder (18) and which opens out in the bore (24), extending over the whole length of the bore. Inserted in the bore (24) is a fixation bolt (9) whose diameter matches that of the bore (24). The fixation bolt (39) has threaded bores running parallel to each other and at right angles to the longitudinal axis (26) of the bolt. Tie bolts are inserted between the two sides of the slot (29), thus holding the removable holder (18) on the main chuck (17).
