摘要 A method of measuring the length of extruded material involves continuously mechanically scanning the material along its surface and feeding the measured length values to a display device. The scanning is performed at at least two opposing positions on the circumference of the material and the average of the length values determined. The measurement values are summed in the form of electrical pulses and divided by the number of measurement positions. The mean value thus obtained is converted into the length of the material. USE/ADVANTAGE - E.g. for measuring length of electrical cable, pipes, tubes, etc. Systematic errors are eliminated to enable improved accuracy to be achieved.
