The machine consists of a pressure vessel (11) contg. a volatile substance, and a valved outlet connected to an expansion nozzle next to an applicator, which receives the CO2 snow formed in the nozzle. The applicator (27) has a snow collector anchoring head (30) at one end, inserted in a forming tube (22) at the nozzle (21) outlet. The tube is preceded by an air vent (32). Pref. the valve (12) actuator (15) is coupled to the nozzle and opens the valve by compression against the nozzle. The anchoring head may comprise a swab or open-cell, porous material. USE/ADVANTAGE - For dental vitality testing cold members with simple servicing and handling.
