The cultivator is driven over the soil surface by a travelling mechanism. It has a vibrating tilling element (6) transverse to the direction of travel. The element is coupled by connecting rods (7) to a stationary cross-beam (2), arranged behind it. Flexible damping elements (9) are attached to the cross-beam, opposite to the connecting rods, to reduce the wear on the moving and bearing parts. The damping elements can be mounted each side of at least one connecting rod, acting against its direction of movement.
