Prepn. of solid washing compsn. - by mixing aq. alkyl sulphate paste with sodium sulphate and/or aluminosilicate and shaping or grinding

A solid washing compsn. contg. an anionic surfactant and Na2SO4 and/or alumosilicate (pref. zeolite A) is prepd. by mixing 100 pts.wt. of an aq. 40-60 wt.% alkyl sulphate paste at 20-80 deg.C with (a) 15-100 pts. of Na2SO4 and/or (b) 10-100 pts. of alumosilicate, and then shaping to pieces at 20-60 deg.C and/or grinding. - Pref. the paste contains 16/18C tallow alkyl sulphate Na salt. The alumosilicate is zeolite A contg. water. The additives are dispersed in the paste at 60-80 deg.C, and the liq. mixt. is transferred to a water-cooled extruder in which it is cooled to solidification and comminuted at the same time.
