PURPOSE:To align the end surfaces of an outer container made of metal and a bonding member, and realize a vacuum container for flat type display device having the stabilized high quality by cutting the periphery of the outer, container made of metal and the bonding member with laser beam after the assembly. CONSTITUTION:A vacuum container for flat type display device consists of a flat type glass 2 coated with the fluorescent material 1, an electrode structure 4 fixed to fixing members arranged in the flat type glass 2, a bonding member 6 bonded to the flat type glass 2 by a frit glass 5, a pressure-proof structural member 7 for protecting the vacuum container from the atmospheric pressure, and an outer container 8 made of metal. In the manufacturing process, the outer container 8 made of metal and the bonding member 6 are fixed by a presser member 9 and a supporting member 10, and both they are cut by a laser beam 12, and end surfaces of the outer container 8 made of metal and the bonding member 6 are aligned on the same surface, and an overlapped part or the end surfaces are welded. End surface of the periphery of the bonding member 6 and the outer container 8 made of metal is thereby aligned accurately to seal the container easily and securely. |
