摘要 Each cylinder is equipped with either an individual knock detector or an individual ion current signal processor linked to the fuel injection control. In the former instance the supply of fuel is cut off from any cylinder as soon as max. retardation of the ignition timing is attained in an attempt to suppress persistent knock. In the latter instance fuel injection is inhibited by ion current shortly before the firing instant. ADVANTAGE - Preignition is prevented so that full power of engine can be utilised without risk of damage.
