The braided mantle (11) round a core (12) is bonded into place by an adhesive component (13) which is heat-activated. The adhesive component (13) is incorporated into the braided mantle (11) and/or the core (12), or inserted between them, over the whole length of the shrouding (10). The prepared braiding (10) has at least one non-activated adhesive component (13) in the form of a thread (13) or a number of parallel filaments. The core (12) can incorporate a number of adhesive components (13), equidistantly round its surface, as a braiding, winding or parallel to the core axis. The core (12) is a high tensile and low stretch polyethylene or polyamide material, and the mantle (11) is of a polyester material.
