PURPOSE: To enhance the conversion efficiency of catalyst metals to obtain a catalyst useful for converting hydrocarbons by using an amino-polymer solution prepared through a reaction between amine and epoxy resin under control for a hydrocarbon oxidative platinum. CONSTITUTION: Amine and epoxy resin are mutually reacted under a controlled condition to form a soluble adduct, to which a solvent is added to obtain the uniform amine-polymer solution. A particulate substrate material such as alumina or the like is coated with platinum/chlorine compound and the resulting coated substrate material is mixed with the said polymer solution. The mixture is heated to evaporate the solvent and to eliminate the polymer by decomposing it. Thereupon, the amino-polymer is lost, leaving a hydrocarbon oxidative platinum in a morphologically changed condition. The catalyst thus obtained is useful for converting hydrocarbons. |
