Apparatus (10) consists of a housing (12,14) containing pins (40). The pins are held captive in the housing and are mounted to be sequentially available at a point of use (6b). Once a pin has been used, the used pin is movable to a position in the housing where the tip is inaccessible. Pref. the housing consists of a gap in its outer wall, where the tips of the pins are presented so that they project outwardly of the housing.
