The screw clamp has a threaded sleeve fitted around the outside of the cable or hose receiving a threaded clamping nut, used to press a cylindrical seal (9) against the outside of the cable (12) or hose. The seal (9) has integral projections in the surface facing the cable (12) or hose for increasing the coefficient of friction. The projections are in the form of intersecting ribs which have relatively sharp edges. ADVANTAGE - Ensures secure grip with cable or hose.
