A holder for a piston, esp. for measurement purposes, contains a plug (12) holding the equivalent (2) to a piston's gudgeon pin and a supporting plate (3) which works in conjunction with the piston shaft. The height of the plug is adjustable w.r.t. the supporting plate. The outer surface of the essentially cylindrical plug has a helical guide slot (13) engaged by a guide pin (4) supported by the supporting plate (3). The guide pin fits into a rotatably mounted ring. USE/ADVANTAGE - Holder is universably applicable and can esp. be used for pistons with different shaft heights.
