A high-voltage gas insulated switchgear includes suppressors (23), e.g. ferrite rings, to suppress high-frequency surges which can damage the switchgear. In order to enable suppression of invading surges e.g. lightning, when the operational current is flowing, at least one surge suppressor (23) is disposed so as not to be saturated by the operational current flow. It may be on a branch (22), or specially adapted to avoid saturation, or the conductor it surrounds may be sub-divided or three-phase. <IMAGE> |
