The process is applicable to obtaining footwear which includes a wedge, a lower sheet of uniform thickness constituting the sole, a very thin upper sheet of leather or the like constituting the support surface for the foot, and the corresponding upper, in such a manner that these pieces have to be fixed together, and the wedge, formed preferably from rubber and cork, has to be vulcanized in a mould into which is placed, in turn, the sheet of leather so that it can be fixed to the piece constituting the wedge. The process according to the invention consists in high-frequency vulcanization during which the corresponding mould containing the granular mixture of rubber plus cork for forming the wedge, the sheet of leather, the upper and the sheet forming the sole are placed in such a manner inside the high- frequency machine that vulcanization of the rubber is achieved and, in addition, the fixing-together of said pieces, and in achieving fully-finished footwear which exits after a single operational stage.
