1313505 Releasable fastenings G M HURLEY and C PIKE 22 April 1970 [22 April 1969] 20551/69 Headings E2A and E2B A plate clamp comprises a tubular holder 21, a clamping pin structure extending through the holder an apertured member 13 engaging round the clamping pin structure, and removable and replaceable circlip 28 engaging one end portion of the tubular holder 21 and the apertured member 13 to detachably hold together the pin structure, the apertured member and the tubular holder, and a nut 27 engaging the other end of the holder and a threaded end portion of the pin structure for moving the pin structure to a clamping position. The pin structure comprises a pin 1 which has a head 6 and a recess along part of one side and with a convex surface, a spigot 8 lies alongside the pin and has a concave surface to engage the pin so that the cross sectional dimensions of the spigot and recessed part of the pin is substantially the same as the cross section of the head 6. The tubular holder 21 has diametrically opposed recesses in an enlarged end portion 24 in which recesses ears 15, 16 on the apertured member 13 which is resilient and ears 10, 11 on a plate 9 integral with the spigot engage. The circlip 29 engages in a groove 29 in the holder 21 and in grooves 17, 18, in the ears 15, 16. A spring may surround the pin and abut the plate 9 and a stop on the pin to urge the pin to the clamping position. The pin may be split and the spigot then would extend between the two pin parts. |
