CONSTITUTION:When no coincident word is retrieved, a word that coincides with a word to be retrieved to a maximum in length in an English word dictionary 3 is detected, and it is decided whether or not the word to be retrieved is the derivative of a taken out word from the description of the derivative information of the English word dictionary part 3. When it is the derivative, it is checked to what the part of speech of the derivative is changed from a derivative table 5, and a derivative translation generation part 7 estimates and generates the semantics of the derivative by referring to a semantic code with respect to derivation on a derivative information column and a derivative information regulation part 6. Thereby, it is possible to automatically generate the equivalent of the derivative from the equivalent of the fundamental word, and also, to save the memory capacity of a translation dictionary. |
