Mechanism which makes it possible to lift counterweighted loads in such a manner that the load to be lifted is permanently neutralized with another load of equal weight which is opposed to the load being raised, the counterweight load remaining in the same position during the aforesaid lifting process. It consists of a stable device in which the counterweight load remains in the same position during the lifting work, a distributor which, during the carrying-out of the work, distributes on the stable device the weight of the load to be lifted in such a manner that said counterweight load does not change position, and an elevator, to which is anchored the load to be lifted, permanently counterweighted with the load located on the stable device whilst the lifting work takes place.
