In order to prevent theft of a radio apparatus and the like installed in motor vehicles, a casing/receptacle 1 is provided which can be built into a panel in the vehicle passenger compartment, which casing/receptacle has a generally parallelepipedal arrangement with a front recess 2 for the front panel of the apparatus and a foldable cover 8 therefor. The casing 1 has an oblique upper face 3 so that internally, two portions are defined, a substantially parallelepipedal lower portion 4 and an upper portion 5 arranged obliquely with respect to the previous one, between which a removable support 6, carrying the apparatus to be concealed, is displaced. The removable support 6 is displaced along a broken path defined by a groove 16 with three branches 16a, 16b and 16c which is provided on a side of the casing 1. In addition, there is a flange 10 which partially covers the removable support 6 and by addition to the apparatus when the latter is in the concealed position. The foldable cover 8, which rests on the removable support 6, follows the latter's movement, leaving the recess 2 of the casing 1 free or closed. <IMAGE>
