PURPOSE:To obtain the subject chewing gum, composed of a base material for the chewing gum and short fibers mixed in the aforementioned base material and capable of scraping off foods or mutan (polysaccharides) remaining around teeth after a meal and preventing carious teeth or gingivitis. CONSTITUTION:The objective chewing gum is composed of a base material 1 for the chewing gum and short fiber (e.g. natural fiber, fiber made of natural collagen or synthetic resin fiber such as fluororesin having 0.5mm length) 2 mixed in the aforementioned base material 1 and preferably further a weak alkaline buffer 3 mixed therein. |
