It comprises a plurality of rings 4a of filtering material located around perforated or grooved tubes 3, and adjustable-pressure elastic means 5 for holding said rings together, exerting a predetermined pressure. It is also comprises at least one inlet conduit 6 for introducing air under pressure inside the tubes 3, in the direction counter to the normal flow of liquid, in order to clean the filter 1, and a discharge valve 7 for emptying the container of the remains of particles and of the liquid which it contains, which are entrained by the air pressure. It requires no maintenance. Intended principally for filtering dielectric liquids used in machine tools for machining by electroerosion, or the like. <IMAGE>
