Procedure for the manufacture of flags, standards and similar. The process comprises a first phase in which in a delible form, on one face of a cloth, the silhouette of the design of the emblem is reproduced. A second phase in which on the other face of the cloth portions of coloured cloth are overlaid, corresponding to the colours of the design. A third phase in which the silhouettes of the design are cut out. A fourth phase in which the edge of the cut-outs obtained in the preceding phase is sewn together with the portions of cloth of the rear face. And a final phase in which the areas of rear cloth external to the sewing line are removed. The invention permits the incorporation into flags and similar of coloured designs based on portions of cloth dyed once they have been made or formed from previously-dyed threads, which same makes them stable to the weather and external agents.
