A machine for cutting sheets from blocks of marble, granite and other stone materials comprises a load- bearing frame 2 which supports a tool-holder head 3 which can move laterally in a substantially vertical and horizontal direction, and a block carriage 4 located beneath the said head, characterised in that the said frame 2 is a rigid monolithic structure formed from a pair of vertical uprights 5; 6 joined together at the top by a pair of horizontal crosspieces 7; 8 which are spaced apart in such a way as to allow the said head 3 to pass across the plane containing the axis of the said crosspieces. The frame can be directly anchored to the ground, and has maximum dimensions such that it can be completely transported in one piece by normal means of transport. <IMAGE> |
