PURPOSE:To obtain a product with a sufficient antibacterial property and the incidentally required performance such as wash resistance by forming the product with fibers treated by silver ions, setting the antibacterial property measured by the microbial counting method to a specific value or above in the microbial number increase/decrease value difference, or setting the sterilization rate measured by the shake flask method to a specific value or above. CONSTITUTION:Antibacterial fibers treated by silver ions has the feature that the antibacterial property measured by the microbial counting method is 1.6 or above in the microbial number increase/decrease value difference or the sterilization rate measured by the shake flask method is 26% or above. Water soluble silver ions such as silver nitrate, silver acetate, silver chlorate can be used for silver ion treatment, and a silver nitrate aqueous solution is preferably used in particular. The silver nitrate concentration in the silver nitrate aqueous solution is preferably set to 0.01-0.1mol/l. Synthetic fibers such as polyester, polyamide, polyacrylonitrile are preferable for the fibers to be used in view of the easiness of silver ion treatment, and fibers with affinity to cationic dye such as sulfonic acid alkaline metal salt are suitable in particular. |
