<p>A process for purifying wastewater containing fats and proteins as skimmings in a dissolved air flotation cell wherein an amount of a persulfate is added to the skimmings effective to increase by at least 10 % of the volume fraction of a solids-rich fraction which is separated in the dissolved air flotation cell from the skimmings after the persulfate enriched skimmings have been maintained for a predetermined period of time at a predetermined temperature.</p> |
