The invention relates to a tap-off connector, for at least two pairs of electrical wires, one of the wires (11a) of each pair constituting one of the wires of an incoming cable (8) of the power supply line and the other wire (11b) of each pair, one of the wires of an outgoing line cable (9), while parallel connections for tap-off wires (14b) are provided on the line incoming wires or the line outgoing wires in order to supply an electrical apparatus in parallel via a circuit breaker system. The invention is noteworthy in that it includes a socket (4) provided with at least as many contacts (10a, 10b) as line wires, which contacts are connected in pairs to the said respectively incoming and outgoing wires, and a plug (6) with pins (12b) connected to the said electrical apparatus, each pin of the plug being configured to connect with one of the contacts of each pair of contacts of the socket, in such a way that the circuit breaker system is obtained by the plug (6)-socket (4) combination connectable at will, the contacts of each pair of contacts of the socket being moreover electrically linked by a connection element. The invention is more particularly intended for the electrical power supply to public lighting appliances. <IMAGE>
