An autonomous device for arc welding comprises an accumulator (31) to which are connected: a voltage regulator (26), an engine (1) to which is connected a charging generator (3), and, mutually interconnected in parallel, the anode (15) of an isolation diode (10), a switch (8) and a voltage regulator (12) of a control means (11). The voltage regulator (12) is connected to a switch (21) to which are connected in turn the voltage regulator (26) and the charging generator (3) connected to the arc welding means and to the switch (8), as well as to the cathode (9) of the isolation diode (10) of the control means (11).
