The cylinder head housing contains the cooling water chamber and is closed off by a cover plate surmounted by a valve control space, which contains the camshaft bearing block with bearing covers releasably fitted via bolts to the cylinder head. Lubricating oil is fed from the engine through the cylinder head bore to the camshaft bearings and valve tappets using a system of branch bores led off the main feed bore. The bolt connections (14-16) contain oil bores used to branch lubricating oil off to the bearings (30,31) and tappets. Pref. the dia. of the bolt holes exceeds that of the bolts so that the residual bore (32) serves as the oil feed. ADVANTAGE - Compact design for reliable lubrication.
