<p>The present invention relates to a method for multi-protocol transmission for communication over a transmission channel such as a 64 kbit/s channel, in particular for ISDN-RNIS integrated services networks. The method of the invention aims to facilitate the exploitation of other communication protocols. The invention also relates to an apparatus implementing the method of the invention. The invention finds application in the field of remote computing. The invention is characterised in that the 64 kbit/second channel is packed by duplicating (27, 28,...) a signalling byte, the transmitted data word (26) being placed aside the said signalling byte (25) in a first transmission.
