Weighing of principal component e.g. of chocolate on industrial scale - by delivering material, such as cocoa butter, in turn to number of batch weighers and automatically adding wt. signals together

The material is delivered in turn to at least two separate batch weighing machines, and the wt. signals from all of the weighing machines are added together. The wt. signals from the weighing machines which at a partic. moment do not contain the material are stored, and these stored signals are added to the signal from the weighing machine which does contain the material. Delivery of further material is stopped once the sum of the wt. signals reaches a predetermined value. The weighing machines are emptied in turn as soon as the wt. signal from each one is determined. The individual weighing machines are filled with the material at a greater rate than they are emptied. Delivery of the material into the washing machines is achieved by at least one reversible conveyor belt. The period between the end of filling and determining the weight signal from a weighing machine is fixed. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used partic. in mfr. of chocolate and similar prods. where the principal component e.g. cocoa butter is supplied automatically in weighed quantities to the processing equipment. The material is weighed continuously in a practical manner and with a greater deg. of accuracy.
