PURPOSE:To prepare molded active carbon having excellent crash strength, abrasion-resistant strength, etc., by kneading granular active carbon, bentonite clay and a boron compound in specific amounts, respectively, granulating the kneaded product and subsequently calcining the granules at a prescribed temperature. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. of powdery active carbon (e.g. coal powdery active carbon), 5-75 pts.wt. of bentonite clay and 1-35 pts.wt. of a boron compound (e.g. H3BO3) are kneaded, granulated and calcined at 400-800 deg.C. |
