Piston IC engine working temp. booster - has coolant passing heat exchanger in by=pass downstream of heater

The temp. booster has a heater in bypass off the air intake, using a control to vary the vol. of fresh intake air through the bypass depending on the engine operating parameters. A heat exchanger (38) in the bypass (8), downstream of the heater (9,10), is passed by the engine coolant (1). Pref. an additional bypass (39), branched off between the heater and exchanger, contains a mixing valve (40) and reenters the main bypass. USE/ADVANTAGE - For piston i.c. engines, with a facility to reduce the engine warming up phase.
