<p>An apparatus for measuring the diameter and velocity of a particle (M) comprises a light source (21), a light transfer system (A) for guiding light emitted from the light source to a measuring volume (E), a slit member (50) made of a partially-permeable film for partially permeating the light before it reaches the measuring volume (E) or after it passes the same, a photomultiplier tube (10) for detecting, as a pulse signal, the light scattered by the particle (M) passing the measuring volume (E), a digital storage oscilloscope (12) for determining whether or not the waveform of a detected scattered light pulse signal, and then selecting the scattered light pulse signal when it has a normal waveform, and a computer (13) for calculating at least one of the diameter and velocity of the particle (M) on the basis of the selected signal. <IMAGE></p> |
