Pure collagen dispersions

Alkali-swelled, collagen-rich animal tissue which has been mechanically cleaned and comminuted is subjected to ultrasonic treatment of intensity 80 W per litre, to separate the collagen. When the collagen is acid-swelled the ultrasonic density is 100 W per litre. Used in manufacture of pharmaceutical resorbable products e.g. foils, hollow or solid articles, sponges, powders, granulates.
