Armoured cable

The conductor is sheathed with insulation in the normal way and then with an outer jacket of a semiconducting plastic in the outer part of which a number crimped wires, running essentially parallel to the cable axis, are embedded. They may be in axial planes, parallel to the surface of the outer sheath in a cylinder coaxial to the cable axis and at least partially exposed at the surface of the outer sheath. The outer sheath is extruded around the insulated cable and the armouring wires fed into the extruder nozzle symm. around it at the same speed as the insulated core. The cable is capable of direct laying without duct but has improved flexibility on the drum for laying operations.
