A panel mounted connector (3) has a radially-acting spring ring (16) disposed in the bore in the panel in which the connector is mounted to effect an earth contact between the panel (1) and the connector body (6). The earth contact may be augmented by a disc (13) which fits over the back of the socket, the periphery of the disc making contact with the inner surface of the spring ring. A clearance is provided between the bore walls and the connector housing to accommodate the spring ring. The bore may be open to the outside to facilirate insertion of the connector. The earth contact may have a tubular collar (17), the regions making contact with the bore extending radially outwards from the plane of the collar. The ring may be barrel-shaped in profile, the spring portions being implemented by providing axial slits in the barreled portion.
