A low-profile surface mount connector mounted on a printed circuit board is disclosed. The connector comprises a pair of elongated housings which are engaged with each other through one side of the printed circuit board, and a plurality of contacts which extend from one side surface of at least one of the housings along a longitudinal direction of the side surface. The contacts have contact portions which are brought into contact with conductive patterns or electrodes that are formed on at least one surface of the printed circuit board when the pair of housings are engaged with each other, This connector reduces the necessary height and size of the printed circuit board. |
