PURPOSE:To eliminate the timewise loss of a driver by calculating a progress state of an operation in a guidance route operation and displaying a result of operation. CONSTITUTION:A driver inputs a departure intersection and a target intersection by operating a keyboard 16. Subsequently, two intersection information is read out of a CD-ROM 19, and the number of all intersections that are read out is stored. Next, by using a well-known guidance route search technique, an operation for selecting an optimal guidance route is executed, and when an output processing of the guidance route is executed, principal place names of a road in the periphery of a departure place and the guidance route, etc., a distance from the start of running from the departure place to the next intersection, a shape of the intersection and the advance direction in the intersection are displayed on a CRT 20. Also, the guidance route to the target intersection is calculated. |
